For the software part, you have the choice between 4 applications :

• Nextcloud : Complete suite of file storage and sharing. Multi users, you can create an individual space per person / user, allow the sharing according to your rules between certain users. • Owncloud : complete suite of storage and file sharing. Multi users, you can create an individual space per person / user, allow the sharing according to your rules between certain users. • Seafile : This suite is dedicated to storing and sharing files. it is also multi users, and allows the encryption of data on the hard disk.
• OpenMediaVault : you will find all the characteristics of a classic NAS: SMB / CIFS sharing, supported DLNA protocols, DAAP, FTP server, integrated TFTP.
